Short Ensemble Bio

mothrmöv was founded in 2018 and is the first ever of its makeup. mothrmöv is a revolutionary trio consisting of an oboist, a harpist, and a mover. The ensemble exists to explore and embrace the relationship between music and movement. As mothers, each member of the ensemble has dedicated her life to her children, in addition to working hard to maintain a performance life. A testament to the unique capabilities of women, mothrmöv seeks to empower other women to reach their career goals and educate the next generation with a wide array of repertoire and genres.

mothrmöv has performed in a variety of venues from fine dining establishments such as Urban Eatery in Minneapolis to a performance for the top high school musicians in the state of Minnesota at MMEA MN All-State Band Camp. You can find mothrmöv sharing their art form in night clubs for local fundraisers and at music camps such as quINTENS!VE Chamber Music Camp. A highlight of the ensemble is sharing their art with the next generation. Last June, mothrmöv was able to share music, movement and an interactive educational experience with 4 first grade classes at Garlough Environmental Magnet school in West St. Paul, MN. The ensemble has shared performances at local high schools and most recently premiered a piece by local composer Ben Osterhouse, called Fancy Mouse at a Schubert Club Courtroom Concert. Each performance of the ensemble is evocative and full of expression. mothrmöv is available for performances, lectures or an interactive music and movement experience. We look forward to sharing our art with you. Contact mothrmöv at for booking.
